Drury Boys Are W.Mass Div. 4 Champs Again

The Drury Blue Devils are Western Mass Boys Div. 4 Champions, with a thrilling 85-82 overtime win over top-seed Baystate Academy this afternoon.

The 2nd seeded Blue Devils were led to their 2nd straight W.Mass title by Scott McGuire's 45 points.

The game was tied at 19 after the 1st quarter. Drury led 42-35 at the half, which was closed out by a Scott McGuire 3 from half-court. Drury kept the lead after 3, 61-56, but Baystate rallied in the 4th to take it to overtime tied at 76. The Blue Devils fell behind in the extra period but took the lead with about 40 seconds left and held off the top-seeds for the win.

Drury advances to a State Div. 4 Boys semifinal meeting with Central Mass. champion Hopedale next week.
