W.Mass: Blue Devils, Mounties, Lady Canes All Play Tonight
After waiting out a first round bye as a 2-seed, the Drury Blue Devils get back on their home court tonight when they host Turners Falls in a Western Mass. Boys Div. 4 quarterfinal. #7 Turners Falls earned the match with a 65-52 win over #10 Franklin Co.Tech. Jack Passetto will call the action starting at 6:50 tonight on AM1230 WNAW and wnaw.com.
Also tonight, Mt. Greylock visits top seeded Narragansett in a Boys Div. 3 quarterfinal. The 9th seeded Mounties knocked off #8 Greenfield 70-59 in the first round.
The other q-final on that side of the bracket has Wahconah hosting Murdock. Monument Mtn. is at Frontier, also in Div. 3. The Lenox boys have a Div. 4 matchup at Monson. Taconic hosts Belchertown in a Div. 2 quarterfinal.
The 3rd seeded Hoosac Valley girls had their Div. 3 quarterfinal vs. #6 Granby postponed last night due to a leak in the gym. It's been rescheduled for 7:00 tonight at Hoosac Valley. The winner heads to a semifinal next week against #2 Hampshire, which beat So.Hadley last night.
On the other side of the bracket, top-seeded Wahconah beat Frontier 50-23 to advance to the semis vs. Sabis.
In Girls Div.4 Lee and Lenox both won their quarterfinals. Lenox will meet Ware in one semifinal, while the Wildcats will draw the winner of tonight's Putnam-Monson game.
In Div. 2 Taconic took down Quabbin 49-27 & will play tonight's Amherst-Longmeadow winner in next week's semifinals. The 8th seeded Pittsfield girls will need to beat #1 Northampton tonight to reach the other semi against East Longmeadow.
