W.Mass Titles at Stake for Drury Boys and Hoosac Girls Saturday
Fifteen high school basketball teams from across Berkshire Co. played their way into this year's Western Mass Tournament with the hopes of winning a championship. For six of them, that dream has survived to Saturday's title games at the Curry Hicks Cage at UMass.
Two of those six will be looking to bring trophies back to North County. The defending W.Mass Boys Div 4 Champion Drury Blue Devils, who were seeded 2nd, will take on top-seed Bay State Charter at approximately 12:30. That game will be followed by the Div. 3 Girls matchup between two county foes: top-seed Wahconah and #3 Hoosac Valley, the defending State Champs. Jack Passetto will be on hand to bring you both games on AM1230 WNAW and wnaw.com, starting at about 12:20 Saturday. The Wahconah-Hoosac game will also be available on our sister station, WBEC-AM in Pittsfield.
Before the Drury-Bay State Charter game at the Cage, Lenox will play Monson in Girls Div. 4 at 10:45. The Girls Div. 2 title game has Taconic taking on East Longmeadow at 5:45, followed by the Taconic boys vs. Chicopee in Div.2.
