Three North County basketball teams were looking to play their way into the Western Mass semifinals Friday night. They almost made it a clean sweep.

In the game heard on WNAW, the 2nd seeded Drury Blue Devils downed Turners Falls 66-57 in a Boys Div. 4 quarterfinal. They'll meet #3 Hopkins at the Curry Hicks Cage at UMass Tuesday night at 8.

In Girls Div.3, 3rd seeded Hoosac Valley dropped Granby 56-47. They head to a semifinal at the Cage next Wednesday at 7:30 against #2 Hampshire. That will follow the Wahconah-Sabis semi.

Mt. Greylock took the long bus ride to top seeded Narragansett for a Boys Div. 3 quarterfinal. The 9th seeded Mounties took their hosts to overtime before falling 58-55.

Five other Berkshire Co. teams saw action, and all five were winners, including the 8th seeded Lady Generals from Pittsfield, who shocked top-seeded Northampton 50-49 to advance to a Div. 2 semifinal vs. #4 East Longmeadow. #7 Amherst knocked out #2 Longmeadow to move into the other semi against #3 Taconic.

In Boys Div. 3 Wahconah was a winner over Murdock, so they'll challenge top-seed Narragansett in one semi at the Cage next Tuesday. Monument Mountain beat Frontier to earn the other semi vs. Sabis.

The Lenox boys won on the road at Monson to score a Div. 4 semi with top-seeded Bay State Charter Monday night. Taconic beat Belchertown in a Div. 2 quarterfinal Friday and will play Longmeadow on Wednesday.
