Another popular event in the City Of North Adams Fall Foliage Festival steps off Friday with the annual Children's Parade.

Kids from throughout the Northern Berkshires are encouraged to make costumes following this year's theme, "Year of the Dog”. It's always fun to see how the young ones take the theme and run with it, and this one should really play to their imagination. North Adams Community Events Director Suzy Helme tells us that real dogs will be permitted, as long as they're well-behaved around a lot of people and other dogs. They also need to accompany a child. The pets will have their own chance to shine in Saturday morning's Dog Parade. You can check with Suzy for more info at 413-664-6180.

There's no charge to join in the fun. Registration starts at 4:30 PM in front of First Baptist Church on Main St. You'll lineup at 5:00 & the Parade begins at 5:30, heading down Main St. to City Hall. Ribbons will be given to all participants. Group and float winners will be invited to participate in the Fall Foliage Parade on Sunday, September 30th. For more info. or to pre-register you may get in touch with Kathy Keeser at 664-4006 or email kathykeeser@gmail.com .
