This Sunday, November 11 marks the 100th anniversary of the Allied forces armistice with Germany which marked the end of World War I. In keeping with tradition, the City of North Adams will hold its Veterans Day parade and ceremony on that day.

As a salute to all veterans, the parade will form and start at 10:40 Sunday morning from the American Legion Post 125 on American Legion Drive and head to Main St., before turning left on Eagle to the Veterans Memorial where the ceremony will take place.

Commanders and members of local veterans organizations and auxiliaries will participate, along with North Adams Mayor Thomas Bernard, North Adams Police, Fire and Ambulance personnel, and the Drury High School band.

Sandra Kee, Dept. Vice Cmdr., Dept. of Massachusetts American Legion is this year's scheduled keynote speaker.

All veterans are invited to participate on Sunday. You do not have to be a member of any organization. Coffee & doughnuts will available for participants at 9:30 at the American Legion. You should be there by 10:00 to line up for the parade.
