With forecasts of rain and wind expected to roll into our area during the day Wednesday, North Adams annual Tree Lighting Ceremony has been postponed.

Tourism Office Director Suzy Helme sent word today that the city has decided to hold off on the festivities until the rain date of Friday Dec. 6. Same time and place: 6 P.M. at the tree at the top of Main St. near the First Baptist Church.

We'll still be able to enjoy the music, the lights, the caroling, Santa's visit, and the Holiday Downtown Bike Around. We'll just have to wait another week or so.

North Berkshire is now 0-for-2 on tree lightings. Bad weather caused the cancellation of last Sunday's Adams Holly Days ceremonies.
