Voters in North Adams went to the polls Tuesday and cast their votes for Mayor, City Council, and both North Adams and Northern Berkshire Vocational Regional School Committees.

Incumbent Mayor Thomas Bernard has won another 2 year term in the corner office. He defeated his opponent Rachel Branch,1740 to 387 according to the unofficial totals, which do not include absentee ballots.

In the City Council race, voters returned all 6 incumbents to office. Benjamin Lamb topped the list with 1587 votes, followed closely by Marie Harpin with 1579. They were followed in order by Keith Bona, Paul Hopkins, and Jason LaForest. Lisa Blackmer came in 6th to return to council after a short absence, followed by incumbent Wayne Wilkinson, and another returnee Robert Moulton Jr. The 9th and final seat was won by Jessica Sweeney, who finished ahead of Peter Oleskiewicz, Bryan Sapienza, Robert Cardimino, Roger Eurbin and Ronald Sheldon.

In the race for North Adams School Committee, incumbents Karen Bond and Tara Jacobs topped the polls. They'll be joined by Robert Moulton Jr. as the newly-elected councillor earned the 3rd open spot over Emily Daunis and David Sookey III.

The Northern Berkshire Vocational Regional School District Committee will see incumbents George Canales and William Diamond returning. Tuesday's tally had Peter Breen elected to the 3rd spot, with Shannon Santelli just 34 votes behind.

Again, these totals do not include absentee ballots which are hand-counted and not a part of the voting machine tabulations. They are also unofficial until certified.
