Drury, McCann Ladies Play On In Western Mass

The spotlight was on the ladies in Western Mass tourney action last night, and Drury and McCann Tech kept the North County win streak alive.

Playing at home, the 8th seeded Lady Blue Devils were winners over #9 Mahar 64-59. They advance to a Div. 3 Quarterfinal at top-seed So. Hadley Friday night.

Meanwhile, playing just down the road in Div.4, McCann picked up a 57-40 win over North Brookfield. That gives the 6th seeded Lady Hornets a Quarterfinal game at #3 Hopkins Friday night. Hopkins dispatched #14 Duggan 76-54 last night.

North County teams are now 4 for 4 and the 5th team will see action Friday night as Div. 3 2-seed Hoosac Valley hosts a Quarterfinal against #7 Sabis, which beat #10 Frontier 35-25 Tuesday.

After an off day today, the action picks up again Thursday night in North Adams, as #11 McCann and #3 Drury meet up on the Blue Devils home court in a Boys Div. 4 Quarterfinal at 7 P.M.  WNAW will bring you that game starting at 6:50 Thursday with Jack Passetto calling the action on AM1230 and streaming live on wnaw.com .
