If you drove past this electronic sign on Route 8 near Hodges Cross Road today and wondered what it was about (as I did) we've got the scoop.

It's a reminder for the second Berkshire County Humvee Push to benefit Special Olympics Massachusetts. It'll take place this Saturday from 10:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter on Rt. 8 in North Adams--hence the sign's location.

According to the Special Olympics MA website, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office's big ol' Humvee will be pushed 40 yards down and back by 5-person teams. The team with the fastest time earns all the honor and glory they can handle for their toil and trouble, plus a custom-made trophy to keep for the next year. They also get the satisfaction of helping out Massachusetts' Special Olympians. Each team is asked to pony up a $100 entry fee & gather up donations from friends, family, and anyone else they know who would much rather donate than push.

And as if watching the Humvee Push isn't enough fun, there will be event entertainment, music, magic, food and lots more going on.
