Every two years, North Adams voters get to have a say in guiding the city forward by choosing a mayor and city council. Today is the day to cast your votes.

In the mayoral race, incumbent Thomas Bernard is looking for a 2nd two-year term in the corner office. He's being opposed by Rachel Branch.

Of the 9 current city council members, 6 are seeking re-election today. They're joined on the ballot by 8 other hopefuls. The top 9 finishers tonight will begin their two year terms in January.

There are also five candidates running for three openings on the North Adams School Committee, and four candidates running for three openings on the McCann Technical High School Committee in North Adams.

Voters from all 5 of the city's wards cast ballots at the same location: the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish Center. Polls are open today from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. Once the polls are closed and the numbers are tallied, we'll bring you the results on AM1230 WNAW, streaming online at wnaw.com .
