Just recently Massachusetts residents in Berkshire County received a phone call with no "caller-id" pretending to be the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Feds, It all starts with a text message that looks just like an invoice for unpaid toll booths from E-ZPass. But there's one problem, it's a fake text message!

However, it has become abundantly clear in this day and age we live in, we are going to keep seeing more of these, no matter where you are. However, as someone that lives in Massachusetts, I happened to come across a particular email scam for the first time.
Generally, these QR Codes are legitimately used. However, just like with everything else that is used widely in this world, scammers have found a way to take advantage of them and YOU.
This scam works rather simply. The contractor either shows up at your door or maybe leaves a pamphlet for you saying that they are doing work in the area and noticed that your driveway could use some paving and then promises you a great deal.
