UPDATE: MEMA announced in a Facebook post tonight that the issues with the 911 system with respect to MA have been corrected and the state's system is operational.

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) shared a Facebook post at about 2 P.M. from the Mass State Police, advising that sporadic outages are still occurring in the state's 911 system.

The problems were more widespread earlier today, and there were reports that the situation had been resolved. State Police say NOT to call 911 just to test the system's operation today, but should you need to report an emergency situation you should familiarize yourself with your local police dept's non-emergency phone number.

A call from the North Adams Emergency Communications system today told residents to use 413-663-3313 in case 911 was not working.
