So Much Fun! An Evening, Delicous Food,Talented Entertainment And More

The North Adams Downtown Celebration returns to downtown North Adams this Wednesday, August 18, from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. In the case of inclement weather, Suzy Helmes office will make an announcement on Wednesday morning and use the rain date of Thursday, August 19, 2021.

The City of North Adams would like you to join in on the fun, join them downtown for an evening of music, performances, shopping local, giveaways, games, good food, and even better people, your friends and neighbors!

Some of the fun things going on during this event including Performances, Live Music, and Other Entertainment.
There will be live music from Berkshire Rhythm Keepers, and Patrick Gray Jr. and Friends, as well as, performances throughout the evening by local groups including Berkshire County Line Dancers, J Star Gymnastics, North Adams Youth Cheerleaders, Drury High School Cheer, Dancecapades, In Motion Dance Academy, Berkshire Dance Theatre and face painting, balloon animals, and magic by Balloon Ben, Barbara Arpante, and Linda Peck.

Always a favorite, you can expect NAPD and NAFD to be at the top of Main Street with the ladder truck, 911 Mobile PSAP Unit, the Copsicle, and more. The Northern Berkshire EMS will be offering free car seat safety checks by the back of the Kid Zone area of the event, in Steeple City Plaza parking lot. (Please pull up to the area using the Ashland or American Legion entrances to the Steeple City Plaza parking lot.)

CCB Kid Zone will be in the Steeple City Plaza Parking lot entrance.
Child Care of the Berkshires, Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, Berkshire Community Action Council, WIC, Headstart, Elizabeth Freeman Center, Early Intervention/UCP, Northern Berkshire United Way, Ecu-Health Care, Head Start, and DCF Foster Care, North Adams Public Schools, Multicultural Bridge, and Roots Teen Center will all be offering games, activities, and giveaways for families.

Downtown restaurants and cafés will be open including Grazie, Tres Ninos, Public Eat + Drink, Christo’s, Ramunto’s, 413 Bistro, The Capitol, Bailey’s Bakery, Jack’s Hot Dog Stand, Desperado’s, Village Pizza, Papa Gino’s and Burger King. Street food will be available from Marki’s French Fries and Fried Dough, Boston Sea Foods, Autumn’s Bistro, M & J’s Taste of Home Catering, Bohemian Nouveaux and many bake sales by local nonprofits!

Shop the pop-up craft, clothing, vinyl records and variety vendor booths at the event alongside some great new small businesses that have recently moved downtown next to your long time favorites! On Marshall Street pop into Pop’s Variety Store. On Main Street swing by the Empire Emporium and Antiques and see their new vendor sections including Savvy Hive, Sunny Windows, Berkshire Cat Records, Mia’s Country Decor, High Ledge Farm, Pinewood Pottery and mid-century modern furnishings and grab a free snack from MountainOne. On Holden check out the new book store, Bear & Bee Bookshop, or shop local art and artisans at AR Designs Fine Art & Tattoo and Common Folk. Eagle and Ashland Street are home to several brand new shops, the Garden Skate Shop, Secret Stash, the Plant Connector, and Terra, as well as the Roots Teen Center, Installation Space, Martha Flood Designs, Gravity Gallery, Lucky Cat Tattoo, and DiLego Jewelry Store and Adams Community Bank.

The following streets will be closed to all but vehicle traffic during the event. East and westbound lanes of Main Street between American Legion Drive and Church Street. Eagle Street between Center Street and Main Street. Ashland Street between Summer Street and Main Street. Holden Street between the parking lot entrance and Main Street. Meters will be bagged with “No parking” starting around 1:00p.m. on the day of the event, and all vehicles must be off these roads before 3:00p.m. North Church Street will be converted to two way traffic during this time and there will be no parking on that portion of the street from noon to 10:00p.m. that day.
