The Red Sox fresh off a sweep of the Yankees over the weekend have them flying high going into a makeup game today against the Marlins.  The Sox were slated for a day off but the rainout when the Marlins were in town forced to squeeze this game in before the Sox open a 3-game series with the Astros at Fenway tomorrow.

It’s an early start time this afternoon with the pre-game show launching at 4:10 and the first pitch slated for 5:10. The 6-1 Nick Pivetta will be on the mound for the good guys today.  The Red Sox remain 1 game in back of the Rays in 2nd place in the AL East.  Thanks to the Sox sweep of the Yanks over the weekend, the first Sox sweep over the Yankees in the Bronx in 10 years, the Yankees have slipped into 4th place 6 ½ games in back of the Rays.

Bruins coach Brian Cassidy is switching up the lines tonight in an effort to bring the scoring spark back to the B’s.  They have had some trouble scoring goals in the last couple of games against the Islanders.  They’ve had opportunities with 29 shots on goal in game 4, even missing some half open nets.  The game can be seen on NBC Sports tonight at 6:30.

Goodluck to the B's and Sox today!
