RED SOX PLAYING A DOUBLEHEADER TODAY ON NEW COUNTRY 94.7 WNAW…1420AM WBEC…94.1 WSBS
The Red Sox are still rolling winning their 7th game in a row yesterday in Minnesota. With snow flying and temps in the low 30tys, the Sox streak continued yesterday afternoon as their timely hitting and strong pitching lead to another Sox win. Yesterday with the game tied at 2-2 going into the 8th inning, Bobby Dalbec doubled to score Christian Arroyo. In the 9th Rafael Devers continues to deliver with a solo homerun to right to give the Sox an insurance run that led to the 4-2 win over the Twins at Target Field.
The Red Sox and Twins will play a 7-inning doubleheader today. The first game of the series scheduled for Monday was postponed because of the death of 20-year-old Daunte Wright by the gun of a Minnesota cop on Sunday. The first game will send the 1-1 Nathan Eovaldi to the mound against 1-0 Kenta Maeda. Pre-game show on WNAW will begin at 1:10 and the first pitch at 2:10. Following the 7-inning game there will be a short break before game 2 gets underway at Target Field. Pitching for the good guys in game 2 will be Edardo Rodriguez who is 1-0 on the season against 2-0 Jose Berrious. There could be another day of baseball in the snow with temperatures in the low 40s and some snow showers expected in Minnesota.
The Sox remain in 1st place in the AL East with a 7-3 record. The Sox haven’t lost a game since dropping their first three games against the Orioles to start the 2021 season. There’s a traffic jam for 2nd with the Orioles, Yankees, Rays, and Blue Jays all tied for second with 5-6 records.
This afternoon’s game, and all the Sox games all season can be heard on New Country 94.7 WNAW…WBEC-AM in Pittsfield and in Great Barrington on 94.1 WSBS.
