The Berkshire Eagle  reports a city man was held without bail after he pleaded not guilty to stabbing another man during a dispute Tuesday.

Rahsaan Montgomery, 40, allegedly twice stabbed a man during an altercation at an Apache Drive home at about 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, according to a criminal complaint filed by North Adams Police Detective Jonathan Beaudreau.

The victim was transported to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, where he was treated for two puncture wounds in his back and released.

The stabbing was reported to police at 1:17 p.m.

Montgomery pleaded not guilty in Northern Berkshire District Court on Wednesday to a single count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was held without the right to bail pending a dangerousness hearing, which has been scheduled for Friday.
