Now that the traditional Fall Foliage Festival activities have wound down in North Adams it's time to look ahead to another tradition. The City is looking for two large Christmas trees, 25 to 30-feet in height, to decorate the downtown area for the holiday season.

Each year the City asks area residents to donate suitable trees, one for the top of Main St. across from the library and the other to go at the other end of the street outside City Hall.  City crews will handle tree removal from your property and set about the work of installing and decorating the trees in time for the City's annual tree lighting ceremony set for Thanksgiving Eve.

The Drury band will play, Santa will arrive and everyone will "ooh and ahh" over what could be your brightly-lit tree.

If you think you have a proper candidate to donate, get in touch with the North Adams Fire Dept. at 662-3103. If you're calling after hours, you're asked to leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
