For the first time since November 2009, the city of North Adams has elected a new mayor.

Thomas Bernard was elected the new mayor of the city, defeating Robert Moulton Jr. on Tuesday night. Bernard will replace Richard Alcombright who was elected in the 2009 mayoral election. The current standing Mayor Alcombright had decided that he would not run this time for the re-election for the office.

The 1st Berkshire State Representative race took place on Tuesday night as well, as former North Adams Mayor John Barrett III took on Christine Canning. As of Tuesday night, full results have not come in, but all signs are pointing to Barrett III winning the seat.

In the race for North Adams City Council, 16 people vied for their opportunity to represent the city. Nine of them were elected, lead by Benjamin Lamb's 2,407 votes. Keith Bona earned the second amount of votes with 2,198.

There were two contested races for School Committee - which included a four-person race for the North Adams School Committee. Heather Putnam-Boulger, Ian Bergeron and James Holmes were elected.

The Northern Berkshire Regional School Committee had two names on the ballot, Paul Gigliotti and Gary Rivers. Both have earned seats on the Committee.
