An outpouring of love from the community as an online fundraiser has generated more than $332,000 in donations to benefit the children of Capitol Police Officer Billy Evans, who was killed this year in the line of duty. The money will be put into a trust in the name of Evans’ two children, Logan and Abigail.

"Please be aware that this fundraiser is the only means of fundraising authorized and approved by the Evans family. This fundraiser is being organized by myself, Officer Lindsey Taylor, a fellow officer of Billy."

The 41-year-old Evans, who grew up in North Adams and Clarksburg, was struck and killed by a man who rammed his vehicle into Evans and another officer at a barricade outside the U.S. Capitol in Washington on April 2nd.

On April 2, 2021, 18 year veteran United States Capitol Police Officer William Evans (Billy) paid the ultimate sacrifice while working his regular post outside the United States Capitol.

Evans was on duty at the Capital when Noah Green drove his car into Evan and another officer at a barricade protecting the Capital.  Evan died from his injuries.  The other officer was hospitalized but survived the attack.  Green was shot and killed by officers after he exited his car and lunged at police while welding a knife.

All proceeds from this campaign will be put into a trust in Logan and Abigail’s name and will be used for their health, maintenance, comfort, support, and education in the coming months and years.
