The City of North Adams will host its 9th Annual Motorama Car Show this Sunday, August 25th from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. Main, Holden, and Eagle Streets will be closed to all but pedestrian traffic as downtown North Adams fills with cars, trucks, motorcycles, snowmobiles, tractors and more. Anything with a motor is welcome. Over the years I've even seen motors and steam engines on display without accompanying vehicles.

A parking ban will be in effect in the following locations beginning at midnight the night before the event: Main Street, Eagle Street, North Church Street, Ashland Street between Main and Summer Streets, and portions of the Steeple City Plaza Parking Lot.

North Adams Director of Community Events, Suzy Helme, says that last year’s Motorama brought close to 500 vehicles to the streets of North Adams. This year could be a record-breaker, especially with good weather in the forecast. Those interested in exhibiting their vehicles can register beginning at 7:30 A.M. Sunday for $15, but you & I can walk around and see everything free of charge.

Show awards will be given out, there'll be food and music and a 50-50. And the really great thing is that the show donates all of its proceeds to local charities, and gives charities a chance to fundraise during the event. The PopCares swap meet will take place in the Steeple City Plaza parking lot on the south side of Main Street.

A very special guest, Paul Mennett, the host of Cruisin' New England on NESN will have a booth at Sunday’s car show. Paul will also bring his Magical Mystery Cruise and Circle of Champions to this Saturday’s free cruise-in and concert at Noel Field. Classic show cars will be allowed to cruise-in using the gate access along the river by Joe Wolfe Field. Everyone else is welcome to park in the lot and walk in. Gates open Saturday at 1 P.M. & music starts at 2 with Live Wire followed by Whiskey City. Food will be for sale and Bright Ideas Brewing will be offering their local brews. Because Motorama is just too big and too much fun for one day.
