Due to the anticipated rain and winds forecast for Thursday evening, the cities of North Adams and Pittsfield have announced a change in their official Halloween trick or treat hours.

An email from North Adams Police Chief Jason Wood said that "the City of North Adams & the City of Pittsfield have collaboratively chosen to postpone Halloween Trick or Treating until Saturday, November 2nd, 2019. Trick or Treating hours will remain the same in being 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Saturday.

Postponement will ensure the safety of our children and parents alike as high winds and rain are expected. The postponement will also allow any cleanup to occur the following day if it is needed."

Also this afternoon, the Town of Adams Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator announced a change in Trick or Treat Hours for the town to Saturday, November 2, from 5:30 to 7 P.M.

It might be a good idea to check with your local officials to see if they have joined in on the delayed hours in your town.  If we get any other official news we'll pass it along.
