With Halloween falling in the middle of the week this year, little & not-so-little kids had a chance to get some extra use from their costumes. Over the weekend there was the Adams Halloween Parade, fun at the UNO Community Center, and the ROOTS Haunted Harvest Festival.

The main event is still trick or treating on Halloween. Here's when to expect your neighborhood ghouls & goblins to come calling on Wednesday evening:

  • Adams: 5:30 to 7 P.M.
  • Cheshire: 5:30 to 7
  • Clarksburg: 5:30 to 7
  • Florida: 6 to 8
  • Lanesborough: 5 to 7
  • New Ashford: 5 to 7
  • North Adams: 5:30 to 7
  • Readsboro, Vt.: 6 to 8
  • Stamford, Vt.: 6 to 7:30 P.M.; the firehouse will be open at 5:30 for families wishing to start out there.
  • Williamstown: 6 to 7:30.

If you're welcoming trick-or-treaters, please be sure to leave a light on for them and make sure their path is clear. Some costumes can have limited visibility.

Drivers will want to be extra careful around those Wednesday evening hours. Think back: the last thing you probably had on your mind as a kid making your annual rounds was watching for traffic. It's the same today. Stay safe & have fun!
