Investigation Leads To A Major Drug Bust In Bennington
The Bennington Police are on it! On Monday, April 12, 2021, at approximately 8:49 PM, members of the Bennington Police Department were dispatched to the area of 222 Union Street Bennington, Vermont. This was for a report of suspicious activity. Officers arrived and after speaking with the complainant, they went to 222 Union Street, Apt 1. There, Officers observed persons inside the residence involved in drug activity.
Five persons were located in the residence and were ordered out of the residence. The residence was secured while investigators applied for a search warrant. A search warrant for 222 Union Street; Apt 1 was granted and members of the Bennington Police Patrol Division and Bureau of Criminal Investigations executed the warrant at 11:02 pm.
During the search of the residence, Officers located 27,735 bags of suspected Heroin, 1,470 grams of suspected Cocaine/Crack-Cocaine, prescription medication, LSD, drug packaging material, drug paraphernalia, A Smith and Wesson .40 Caliber handgun with ammunition, a ledger, and $8,166 in US Currency. The street value of the suspected Heroin and Cocaine/Crack-Cocaine is estimated to be approximately $300,000.00.
This location has been under investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Investigations for suspected narcotics distribution. Analytical support from the Vermont National Guard Counterdrug Program and Bennington PD’s K-9 Gracie assisted with this investigation.

1. Frederick A. Grant Jr., 44, of Bennington, Vermont-Heroin Trafficking, Cocaine Trafficking, Possession of Regulated Drug, Conspiracy, Possession of Firearm in Commission of Felony. Held for lack of $25,000. Bail and scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court-Bennington Criminal Division on April 13.2021.
2. Laci A. Mayer, 33, of Bennington, Vermont- Trafficking, Cocaine Trafficking, Possession of Regulated Drug, Conspiracy, Possession of Firearm in Commission of Felony. Held for lack of $25,000. Bail and scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court-Bennington Criminal Division on April 13, 2021.
3. Heather M. Farley, 39, of Bennington, Vermont- Possession of Heroin- Held for lack of $25,000. Bail and scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court-Bennington Criminal Division on April 13, 2021 at 12:30hrs.
