Eclipse Mill Hosts Open Studios This Weekend
There are numerous art galleries, spaces and artists' residences located in and around North Adams. This weekend you'll have an opportunity to make one stop to see some of them and talk to some of the artists about their creations.
Eclipse Mill Artist Lofts will open its doors for the 14th annual North Adams Open Studios this Saturday and Sunday, October 13-14, from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. both days. There will be more than a dozen artists’ studios open to the public. It's a free event and fully handicap accessible, with onsite parking.
The Eclipse Mill, at 243 Union Street, North Adams is a former cotton mill built in 1896. It has since been transformed into a home to a variety of artists and creative businesses.
Gail Sellers, who has continued to participate in Open Studios through the years is quoted on the Eclipse Mill website as saying, “There are so many different types of artists here, from painters, sculptors, potters and fiber artists, to collage artists and printmakers...It’s an opportunity to meet with them, learn about their work, and purchase work directly from them.” A listing of participating artists can be found here.
