It's almost time for the 6th Annual Cupcake Wars Fundraiser to benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Berkshire County. It takes place Thursday, Feb. 6 from 5:30 - 8 P.M. at Berkshire Hills Country Club, 500 Benedict Rd., Pittsfield.

In case you're not familiar with Cupcake Wars, it's not about getting together to fling cupcakes around the room at each other like some old Three Stooges scene. It's where bakeries throughout the Berkshires compete to create the best cupcake in the following categories: People's Choice, Best Tasting, Best Presentation and Most Creative.

Not only do you get to sample & judge these sweet treats, you get a delicious Italian dinner provided by Pittsfield Unico. At the end of the night, a dozen full-size cupcakes from each participating bakery will be auctioned off to the highest bidders. These creations have been known to pull in some very generous bids, all for a great community cause.

NAMI Berkshire County's mission is to support, educate and advocate for children, adults and families in Berkshire County whose lives are affected by mental illness. The non-profit provides information, referrals, classes, workshops, support groups, and advocacy to family members and caregivers of people living with mental illnesses.

So don't wait to get your tickets. They're $35 for non-members and $30 for members, available at Elm Street Hardware in Pittsfield or online here until 5 p.m. on February 5.
