Concert,Collection Planned For Hurricane Pets

Animal rescue worker Kathy Hynes of Got Spots Etc. Rescue in Adams has announced fundraisers benefiting Hurricane Florence pet relief efforts in North Carolina. Singer Raiche will perform a mini-concert and sign autographs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Firehouse Cafe on Park Street. Admission is $2 along with an animal relief item or food.

Hynes is also coordinating a countywide collection for the North Carolina animal victims through Oct. 13.

Crates, blankets, food for dogs, cats, goats, and horses; cleaning supplies for shelters such as bleach and disinfectants, flea and tick prevention, and shampoo are being collected for delivery to North Carolina.

Current drop-off locations include South Street Veterinary Clinic and Berkshire Veterinary Hospital in Pittsfield; Bark N' Cat and Greylock Animal Hospital in North Adams; VCA All Caring Animal Hospital in Great Barrington; Dalton General Store; Adams Police Department; Adams-Cheshire Regional School District and St. Mary's Church in Cheshire.Visit www.gotspotsetc.org/news for more information.
