According to LoPriore Insurance Agency, A REAL ID is a form of identification that meets enhanced security standards for state-issued driver’s licenses and ID cards. It was passed by Congress in 2005 in response to the 9/11 attacks, as the REAL ID Act aimed to prevent airline terrorism by strengthening requirements for documents granting such as access to domestic planes and specific federal agencies.
According to mass.gov, while this law does prohibit unnecessary idling, it also recognizes that there are times when idling is simply unavoidable and lists three specific exemptions: Like when an engine is being repaired and operating the engine is necessary for the repair; or when a vehicle is making deliveries and associated power is necessary; and when the engine is used to provide power to another device.

The town of Lexington, Massachusetts just recently became the next town in the Baystate to ban all fossil fuels and natural gases which went into effect March 21 according to the towns website. 10 other communities with this ban include Acton, Aquinnah, Arlington, Brookline, Cambridge, Concord, Lexington, Lincoln, Newton and West Tisbury.
