It may or may not turn out to be a significant snowstorm, but the timing of Tuesday's expected event has caused North Adams Mayor Tom Bernard to postpone his State of the City Address.

The Mayor had planned to deliver the speech Tuesday evening in City Hall Council Chambers, but with snow expected to be falling across the region during that time has rescheduled it for Thursday, January 31, at 6:30 P.M.

In a release late Monday afternoon the Mayor said, “I know we’re tough here in North Adams, and not afraid of a little snow. But while I’m looking forward to delivering my update on the state of our city and sharing my vision for the coming year, I want to put safety first and not bring people out at the height of what promises to be a fast moving storm.”

The address will be broadcast live on Northern Berkshire Community Television channel 1303. Mayor Bernard will also be a guest on our Community Insight show this week. The show will air live at a special time: Friday morning at 8:30 on AM1230 WNAW and streaming live on wnaw.com .
