BRTA fixed-route buses will not run on Saturday, according to a statement released by the agency Thursday.

The Berkshire Eagle reports paratransit service, which transports those who are mobility-impaired, will be limited to essential medical services through the weekend.

The limited fixed-route schedule is expected to resume Monday, unless a contract agreement is made before then.

Drivers of the paratransit vans have been striking since Dec. 3. Fixed-route drivers have refused to cross the picket line, so regular bus service has been affected.
