In the fourth day of a strike by paratransit drivers, which has also affected fixed-route service across the Berkshires, the Berkshire Regional Transit Authority released a strike service update this afternoon.

The announcement said that should the current paratransit strike continue into the weekend, the current limited fixed bus route service will not run this Saturday, December 8. The company's fixed route buses do not operate on Sundays. Paratransit service will be limited to only transporting riders for essential medical services on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9.

Should the situation not be resolved before Monday, Dec. 10 the BRTA's fixed route bus service will again operate on the limited schedule, and the paratransit service will resume both essential medical and additional transportation requests.

Although several normal routes have been cut during the strike, riders still have service from North Adams to Pittsfield but on a limited schedule.
