You’ve seen them on TV…you’ve seen them in the movies…but have you eaten their hamburgers? Wahlburgers is preparing to open on May 25th in Springfield on the property of MGM Springfield. Wahlburgers, owned by the Wahlberg family made up of brothers Mark, Donnie and Paul has set the date to finally open their doors adjacent to MGM Springfield according to an article at masslive.com. Mom and Dad Walberg were busy over the years growing the family to a total of 8 Walberg siblings.

Wahlburgers has grown over the years expanding their burger location to 20 states and 4 countries including: the U.S., Canada, Germany and soon opening in Australia. The Wahlberg’s grew up in Dorchester Mass and love selling burgers to their home state. The Springfield property will be the 6th burger joint the family opens in Mass. You may have already enjoyed a tasty burger in Dorchester (of course), at Fenway Park, in Hingham, Lynnfield, or at Logan Airport.

Mark and Donnie are the most famous of the Wahlberg’s but it’s brother Paul who is chef and the brains behind the launch of the first Wahlburgers. Paul did get a bit of TV fame with the A&E TV show Wahlburgers that aired between 2014 and 2019. The restaurant features all the burger fair you would expect along with salad options, fries and adult beverages.

The employees of Wahlburgers will be overseen by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission because the restaurant is on MGM property. The liquor license is under both MGM and Wahlberg’s. The restaurant faced a lot of building delays because of the pandemic. They had originally planned to open their doors in July of 2020.
