The Berkshire Eagle reports two men were injured Friday evening in a head-on collision on Route 7 near Miner Road, according to Lanesborough Fire Chief Charlie Durfee.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., police and rescuers responded to a collision between two trucks. A man driving one of the trucks was immediately taken to BMC with minor injuries, while firefighters from Pittsfield and Lanesborough used the Jaws of Life for over an hour to extricate the driver of the other vehicle.

When the second man was evacuated, he had more serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries to his lower body, and was also taken to BMC,

Both trucks were totaled and Route 7 was temporarily restricted to one lane near the scene until it was cleared, Durfee said.

Lanesborough police couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

No further information was available about the crash.
