Volunteers at the Salvation Army in Pittsfield and North Adams may not be able to meet their need for Christmas toys and holiday meals this season.

The reports  that usually by this time in the year, both locations would have collected almost all the donations they need to assist low-income families with their end-of year celebrations.

Maj. Katherine Corno says that in North Adams, there are about 30 children left to be sponsored for Christmas gifts. Pittsfield is also behind in gifts for children up to age 12, as well as for turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing.
