Three Candidates Seek Pownal/Woodford House Seat
The Bennington Banner reports the race for the Bennington-1 House seat features one of the area's most experienced local officials and two candidates who said they reject or would closely scrutinize any proposed government initiatives.
In the race to represent the Pownal/Woodford district, longtime Pownal Select Board member and zoning officer and regional school board member Nelson Brownell; former Pownal School Board member Jim O'Connor, and Pownal resident Frederick Miller are facing off on the Nov. 6 ballot.
The seat will be open because Rep. Bill Botzow, D-Pownal, an eight-term representative, is not seeking re-election. The incumbent has endorsed Brownell for the post.
