According to WalletHub's findings, the top 5 best cities to go for St. Patrick's Day are Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Buffalo, N.Y., and New York City.
Some other interesting St. Patrick's Day facts include an 819 percent increase in Guinness consumption on St. Patrick's Day compared to the rest of the year. All told, thirteen million pints of Guinness will be consumed worldwide on St. Patrick's Day.
Also, 152.5 percent more beer is sold on the holiday overall.
The current market value of a leprechaun's pot of gold is $1.3 million.
As mentioned earlier, $5.9 billion will be spent collectively on St. Patrick's Day 2018, and that breaks down to $40 per person celebrating.
A few numbers of interest: Eighty-three percent of people celebrating plan to wear green. Forty-five pounds of dye is used to turn the Chicago River Green. The green dye lasts for 5 hours.
