Smashing Windows Has Been Going On In Bennington & Surrounding Areas
This Past Thursday, September 30, 2021 at approximately 07:40 in the morning, the Bennington Police Department received a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle on Gore Road Bennington, Vermont. It was reported that an unknown people had smashed a window of a vehicle located at this residence.
This also continued throughout the day, property owners and Bennington Police officers located numerous other properties with smashed windows. Folks were posting all over Facebook, warning members of the community what had been occurring and telling their neighbors to take extra precautions to keep their vehicles safe and not to park them on the road.
Bennington Police investigated twelve incidents of vandalisms throughout Bennington. Not only were vehicle windows being smashed but there were two commercial properties that had their front windows smashed.
The two commercial properties that had damage are Henry’s Market located at 831Main Street and the former Bennington Trading Post building located at 201B Northside Drive. Ten vehicles parked at residential properties throughout Bennington had their windows smashed out.
At this Point, it is being estimated that the cost of the vandalized property is approximately $5000.00. Bennington Police also found out that this also had happened in Hoosick Falls, NY. Folks who live in surrounding areas should take extra care till the people who have been doing this are caught by police.
