Small Western Massachusetts Town is Named the Most Charming Small Town in MA

There's lots of reasons why New England is such a popular destination for vacationers and tourists alike. And with such a rich history, as well as so many amazing aesthetics, Massachusetts is at the heart of all those potential destinations. And it's not just the big cities in the Bay State that people are flocking to either. There are definitely some small towns that have a certain look about them that leave quite the charming impact on those who visit. In fact, we now know where you can find the most charming small town in Massachusetts.

The popular travel publication known as, 'AFAR' revealed its list of The Most Charming Town of Every U.S. State. The particular spot that was picked is in a region that is known as having some great small towns to travel to. With that, you may have guessed that it's on the western side of Massachusetts, in the Berkshires. This particular town is North Adams.

Here's what 'AFAR' had to say about why North Adams was chose as the most charming small town in all of Massachusetts:

A former factory town in the Berkshires, North Adams churned out bricks, shoes, marble, and pig iron from the late 1700s. These days, the town’s output is decidedly more creative: One of the largest contemporary art museums in the country, Mass MoCA occupies a 16-acre complex of 19th-century mill buildings that now brim with exhibitions by the likes of Sol LeWitt and James Turrell. (You’re also less than a 15-minute drive from the Clark Art Institute and the Williams College Museum of Art.) Continuing the postindustrial theme is Greylock Works, a former cotton-spinning mill that now houses a locally sourced restaurant called the Break Room, Berkshire Cider Project, and a Distillery at Greylock Works, which makes gins with locally foraged botanicals like black birch and wild berries.
