Pownal Man Accused of Deliberately Ramming Off-Road Vehicle

The Bennington Banner reports a 46-year-old Pownal man faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and gross negligent operation after police say he rammed an occupied off-road utility vehicle with his truck on Main Street Friday night.

The Bennington Banner reports Vermont State Police say Richard Snide purposefully rammed a Can-Am Commander, driven by an 18-year-old Pownal man with an 18-year-old Shaftsbury man as a passenger, as it was traveling on the road.

No one was injured in the incident, however, both vehicles sustained damage from the collision.

After being processed for the two charges Snide was released with conditions and will appear at the criminal division of Bennington County Superior Court, Monday, Dec. 17.
