
Springfield Man Charged With Murder After Pittsfield Stabbing
On the evening of Friday, May 29th, at approximately 10 p.m., the Pittsfield Police Department responded to a distress call reporting an assault at a residence on Hall Place. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a 36-year-old man suffering from a severe stab wound that posed a life-threatening injury. Immediate action was taken by first responders, who began emergency medical treatment on-site.
Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, they then swiftly transported the victim to Berkshire Medical Center for further treatment. Unfortunately, despite the urgent medical care provided, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Following an investigation into the incident, law enforcement officials identified a suspect. On the morning of Saturday, June 1st, authorities arrested 24-year-old Zyrus Jaynes of Springfield.
He was subsequently charged with murder in connection with the stabbing. The legal process is underway, and Jaynes is anticipated to appear in Central Berkshire District Court for an arraignment scheduled for Monday, June 1st.
