Mary Beth Pfeiffer, award-winning author of "Lyme: The First Epidemic of Climate Change," will join a medical expert and an outspoken Lyme patient in a "tick talk" from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2, at the Milne Public Library. The event is free and open to the public.

Pfeiffer will be joined by Dr. Korey DiRoma, N.D., of the Stram Center for Integrative Medicine in Bennington, Vt., and Jennifer Benoit of Bennington, who has researched and spoken about her experience with Lyme disease at the Stamford, Vt., public library and elsewhere.

Benoit has developed a slideshow, and will discuss and hand out materials about about Lyme disease prevention, how to remove a tick, tick facts, a symptoms checklist, and testing regimes.
