The Berkshire Eagle  reports  a traffic stop in Greenfield on Wednesday led to the arrest of two men, including one from the Berkshires, on drug trafficking charges.

Daniel Angove, 35, of North Adams, was driving a Chevrolet Cruz about 10 p.m. when he was pulled over for allegedly speeding in the rotary off Exit 26 on I-91, according to a state police report.

Angove was taken into custody after telling police he had a suspended licence, the report said. The passenger in the car, Eddylberto Hurtado, 23, of Springfield, was arrested after allegedly giving police a false name and birth date because he had an outstanding warrant.

After noticing drug paraphernalia and other items commonly used for packaging drugs, police searched the car and found about 700 bags of heroin with a combined weight of about 18 grams, and 28 grams of crack cocaine.

Both men were charged with trafficking in heroin, trafficking in cocaine, and conspiracy to violate drug law. Angove also was charged with operating a motor vehicle while suspended for OUI, and speeding. Hurtado also was charged with furnishing a false name to police.

They were transported to the Franklin County House of Correction on $75,000 bail pending arraignment at Greenfield District Court.
