One Wounded In Pittsfield Shooting

The Berkshire Eagle  reports one person was shot early Sunday in an incident on Columbus Avenue in Pittsfield, according to police.

Gunfire was reported about 3:22 a.m. in the area of 347 Columbus Ave., according to a statement released by the Berkshire District Attorney's Office.

The victim was treated and transported to Berkshire Medical Center. Their condition was unclear.

The DA's office said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident and investigators do not have any ongoing safety concerns for the public at large.

Pittsfield Police, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney's Office, and the Massachusetts State Police Firearm Identification Section are currently investigating the incident.
