The City of North Adams has been awarded a $30,000 grant to conduct a climate change vulnerability assessment through the Commonwealth’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness program.

The city is one of 82 towns and cities across the state that will receive a share of the $2 million in grant funding that was announced recently by Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Matthew Beaton.

The grant and designation program, which builds on Governor Baker’s executive order and other administration-led state and local partnerships, provides communities with technical support, climate change data, and planning tools to identify hazards and develop strategies to improve climate resilience.
