A North Adams City Council committee has made a recommendation for a new city clerk.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that an ad hoc committee of the City Council, formed to find outgoing City Clerk Marilyn Gomeau’s replacement, has recommended that the council appoint Deborah Pedercini as the next city clerk come January.

The City Council will discuss the recommendation at its meeting tonight. Unlike most other city government jobs, the city council is tasked with appointing the city clerk position.
