NA Food Pantry Changes Operating Procedure
A Message from the North Adams Food Pantry
NORTH ADAMS -- The Al Nelson Friendship Center Food Pantry will operate during normal hours on Wednesday, March 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. However, due to the coronavirus epidemic, OUR OPERATING PROCEDURE WILL CHANGE. We will distribute one pre-packaged box of food per household at the front door of the Al Nelson Friendship Center, 45 Eagle Street North Adams.
For the time being, we will NO LONGER assemble, register, or have services available in the Eagle Street Room of the First Baptist Church. IN ADDITION, members of the public, including Food Pantry Members, will not be allowed into the Food Pantry at 45 Eagle Street. Volunteers will attend to visiting households at the front of the building. IN ADDITION, we will no longer be able to give members rides home with their groceries.
We regret that concern for the health of our members, our wider community, and our volunteers necessitates these changes. It is our wish to continue to distribute food while minimizing the risk to ourselves and others, and we will be exploring other avenues to do so.
We will post updates on Facebook, on our website, and through other means as we do our best to adapt to this changing situation.
Our all-volunteer food pantry serves households in North Adams, Clarksburg and Florida Mountain.
