City councilors in North Adams agree that their meetings have become longer, but on Wednesday last week during preliminary conversations, councilors expressed mixed views about when City Council meetings should start – and more specifically if the meeting time should be earlier.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that the council referred the issue to its general government committee for review.

Councilor Wayne Wilkinson raised the issue in a letter to the City Council earlier in December, asking that meetings be moved from their traditional start time of 7:30pm to 6pm, citing the tendency of meetings to stretch late into the evening.
