Patrons to a few downtown business arrived on Monday to find broken doors and boarded up windows.

North Adams Police Chief Jason Wood confirmed that a 17-year-old suspect has been arrested and is facing "numerous charges of malicious destruction of property," with damages assessed upward of $1,200.

The case is still under investigation by the Police Department.

Smashed glass doors, windows and storefronts were covered with plywood, tape and yellow plastic caution ribbon at Boston Sea Foods Restaurant & Catering and Whitney's Beverage Shop in the Oasis Plaza on American Legion Drive, as well as the newly opened Gordmans home goods store, formerly Peebles, located within Steeple City Plaza near Main Street.
