The Berkshire Eagle reports the Mount Greylock Educators Association, the Williamstown Education Association, and the Lanesborough Education Association have initiated a district-wide job action because the district is "refusing to honor their previous contractual commitments and abide by the negotiated salaries and wages of the teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, and cafeteria workers throughout the district," according to information released by union officials.

As a result, teachers will not participate in extracurricular clubs and activities including field trips, robotics club, dance chaperones, writing club, newspaper and yearbook advisers, Spanish club, student performance productions and student art exhibitions.

The committee contends it is committed to coming up with a fair contract, and that it considers the faculty as "one of our community's most valuable assets."
