The Berkshire Eagle reports Mountain One Bank is concentrating its operations in renovated office space on Main Street.

According to Robert Fraser, president and CEO of Mountain One, nearly 10,000 square feet of office space at 85 Main St. is going to house Mountain One's insurance offices and investment division. He expects the new offices to open in late March.

The space is next door to the Mountain One banking center at 93 Main St.

Fraser said the investment division, housed in part of the new space, has relocated temporarily. The project represents an investment of nearly $1 million.

He said Mountain One's capital investment might stimulate economic activity in other businesses in the downtown corridor.

Moresi & Associates is conducting the renovation work. The facade of 85 Main St. also will be updated to more closely correspond with the facade of the bank office next door.

Mountain One Bank was founded in 1848 and serves communities in Massachusetts, from the Berkshires to Boston's South Shore, with more than $900 million in assets.
